In stock now is this stunning 1971 Volkswagen Bay Window Camper. Originally from Sacramento California the car came into the UK in 2010 and had a fortune spent on making it the show grade camper it is today. Finished in Cloud White over Elm Green the bus was worked on by Slamwerks who notched the chassis, fitted a four inch narrowed king and link pin beam, and fitted chrome and black SSP Fuchs style wheels.
The engine, a 1600cc single port, was rebuilt by Cav Taylor at Revesby VW garage.
The entire vehicle was taken back to the bare metal and odd bits that needed sorting were done. Then it was etch primed, filler primed and then repainted. A Kieft en Klok polished belt line trim, polished window trim, new jailbar and a rear safari window finished the look.
Inside a cusom built interior was installed, made of oak veneered MDF and with a birch ply headliner, based on a Devon set up. A Propex heater keeps it warm whilst soft furnishings are from Delilah's VW Furnishings and new floor mats from Madmatz.
Overall 14 months was spent on the camper, which shows in the quality of the finish. It was featured on the cover of Camper & Bus magazine in their July 2012 edition.
